Mueller report: Will it have "the smoking gun"?
The special counsel Robert Mueller has strongly criticized Paul Manafort, the US Presidents former election campaign chief.
In a sentencing memo, Muellers team repeatedly attack Donald Trumps former aide. It says Manafort repeatedly and knowingly broke the law. This includes the time he was serving as Donald Trump's election campaign chairman. Mueller calls him a bold and hardened criminal. The memo states there are no warranted mitigating factors.
In one devastating paragraph, it cites the vast number of entities and people Trumps former aide lied to. This includes tax preparers, book-keepers, banks, the Treasury Department, the Department of Justice, National Security Division , the FBI, the Special Counsel's Office, the grand jury, his own legal counsel, Members of Congress, and members of the executive branch. Lets just remember that this was one of the US presidents closest confidant.
